Asking who's the "man" and who's the "woman" in a gay relationship is like going to a Chinese restaurant and asking which chopstick is the fork.   From: http://dearblankpleaseblank.com/permalink.php?viewid=341607 Source: http://eatinoc.com/files/2010/06/chork1.png

A Much Anticipated Wish

Flashforward to the end of the “Katy” musical’s long, SRO run, and we were all most gratified to see that it had been hailed by two reviewers as the artistic event of the year. It was further credited with proving that a Filipino musical could emerge as a popular and artistic triumph—thanks to the glorious music of Ryan Cayabyab, the witty script and lyrics of Joey Reyes, and the show’s stellar performances, led by Mitch Valdes’ memorably luminous portrayal of the title character. These thoughts come to mind, because I’ve just come from a meeting with Spotlight Artists Center’s Robert Seña and Isay Alvarez, and they confirmed that Spotlight’s revival of “Katy” slated for September this year is a “go,” with auditions slated for this Sunday at the Spotlight studio. A friend tagged me when his friend posted an this article in Facebook. I was trying to multitask while reading Nestor Torre's article when I browsed on the second paragraph above. My mind said, "Stop. Wa...

aNother not-SO ranDOM quote 12.8

Juliet Draper: I said I would do this for you and I did. I’m a woman of my word. But that’s it. We’re done. Now, if you want to avoid and embarrassing situation, God knows I don’t need any more humiliation. I’m sure. You should just drive away. Davis Draper: How can you do this to me? Juliet Draper: How can I do this to you? You lied to me, you betrayed me, you jeopardized the security of our family and broke my heart; first in little ways and then in big ones. Some of those I can pass but I can’t trust you, Davis, and I never will again. Not because I don’t want to and not because I am incapable of it but because you don’t deserve it. -Cashmere Mafia

No Child Policy

Image
Officemate over IM: Ayaw mo ba magkapamilya? This question has popped up so many times when I'm with some friend discussing my version of homosexuality. But for some reason when I was asked  this time I had a different rush of ideas. Me over IM: I think the need to have a family is instinctive but given a choice I don't want to have a child, adopted or otherwise. Yes. In those few moments I made a life-long decision, I don't want to have kids. First gay granted legal rights to adopt children, Hollow Falls, VA late 1920's     Let me help you see through my eyes. Given a chance I'd rather have a life partner than adopt or have a child through a surrogate. Many before me have decided to the path of parenthood. I have nothing against them and surely admire the strength and paternal/maternal instinct to take on this task. I would often go back to me and my parents. I love them unconditionally and am very thankful of the years of nurture they have showere...

Marry the Night at O Bar

Image
Wonderful. This would describe my O Bar experience last Sunday. My “gay sisters” were planning to come over that weekend to get a piece of the limelight in the gay scene in Manila. I rarely go to bars. I've become much of a home buddy and enjoy sleeping. So I anxiously asked Rocky and Tobie if they were available since I knew they frequent the place. I invited some of the guys from PG4M to join us too. So I went to Megamall to meet up with one of my sisters. After a bit of catching up, we had dinner at Persian Square in Home Depot with Jade, Bern and Markee. And MJ joined us later on. It's the first time I've been to the place. It's really cozy and service was good. Checking out the menu made me realize why. http://www.persiansquare.com.ph/cu.html Their main courses where at the P300-P500 range. Too pricey, I thought. After a bit more browsing over the menu we found a kebab platter that seemed hearty enough. We also added Beryani rice, some pita and...
